Office policies
Please telephone (540-370-4344) or email me directly (don@talktomefred.com) to inquire about my services or to set up an appointment. My office hours are Tuesday thru Thursday, 11 am to 5 pm. Sessions begin on the hour and are 45-50 minutes. Once appointments are scheduled, I require 24-hour notice of cancellation, otherwise you will be charged the full fee for your missed appointment.

Insurance: I am out-of-network for all insurances. Reimbursement for psychotherapy is often possible through your insurance plan's out-of-network coverage. Check with your insurance carrier to see if you have out-of-network benefits for CPT psychotherapy codes 90791, 90834, and 90837.
Couple counseling and marital therapy are not services that are covered by health insurance.

Payment is requested at the time that services are rendered, and can be made in the form of cash, check, or major credit card including HSA cards.

Written material, including letters and correspondence to third parties, clinical summaries, and chart reviews, as well as any related clinical consultation or review by telephone are billed on an hourly basis of $130.00 per hour.

Professional ethics, and state and federal law, require that I keep confidential all information regarding your treatment with me, including the fact that you are a client of mine, unless you give me written consent to do so. The exceptions to confidentiality are: (i) when a client is a danger to self or others; or (ii) as required by law. As a licensed health care practitioner the law states that I have a duty to report to the the Department of Social Services any known or suspected incidences of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children, the elderly, and incapacitated adults.

I do not provide legal and court-related services. If I am subpoenaed regarding your treatment then any court or court-related appearances are charged directly to you at $450 per hour, including travel time, and are to be paid in full prior to the date of service.
